Brain Cancer Awareness Day
Every day in Canada, 27 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour. For eight of them, the diagnosis is brain cancer. Behind every diagnosis is a person, a family and loved ones whose lives can change in an instant.
Research continues to advance our understanding of brain tumours and open the door to new treatment possibilities. But much more remains to be done. That’s why research, support, education and awareness remain essential to improving the lives of those affected.
Saturday, October 24, 2026, will mark the 6th annual Brain Cancer Awareness Day in Canada. On this day, we aim to raise awareness of the realities of brain cancer, bring people together around the cause and, above all, remind everyone affected that there is HOPE.
Together, we can raise awareness and work toward a better future for everyone affected by a brain tumour.
Hats for Hope
On October 24, 2018, the House of Commons in Canada declared the first annual Brain Cancer Awareness Day, made possible through the passionate advocacy of Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada and the unwavering voices of our incredible community.
That same year, we launched the very first Hats for Hope campaign, inviting Canadians to wear their hats in solidarity, share their photos online, and shine a light on brain cancer awareness. The movement sparked a wave of compassion, connection and courage across the country.
We proved that together, we can make an impact!
On October 24, 2026, Brain Cancer Awareness Day, we invite you to raise awareness by wearing your #HatsForHope toque or baseball cap and posting a photo of yourself on social media using the hashtag #HatsForHope. Don’t forget to tag @BrainTumourFdn!
Thanks to our distributor New Era Grafix, proceeds from every item sold will be donated to Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, helping us continue our important mission to find the cause of and cure for brain tumours and brain cancer.
